This is a very rare & old Beer Can Tapster made by Revere Romeny . - named Art Deco Barware antique nickel-silver plated brass tapster, made by the famous Revere Copper and Brass division of the prestigious Rome Manufacturing Company. They were sold in 1936 as "fashionable opener/pourers".
This was in the day before pop-top beer cans. Just drop in a can of your favorite brew, push down the lid, and pour! This was considered a very elegant way to both open the can and serve the beer, as the stainless steel opener is built into the forged brass lid - the 'can opener' attached to the lid would open the pre-pop top style beer cans and then you could pour the golden liquid from the spout of the pitcher. The item measures 5 3/4" tall and canister has a diameter of 2 3/4" and weighs 1 pound.
The condition of the tapster is excellent, with no dents or scratches - some slight discoloration due to age, which easily can be polished out.
