Maurice C. Carter was a WWII Veteran and fought through and survived the total War.
He joined the Winnipeg Camerons the day War was declared and was one of two troops that swam back to the ships at Dieppe.
In 1943, he was trained and loaned to the British Army as a young officer through the CANLOAN program and was part of the Seaforth Highlanders of the 51st Division.
He landed on D-Day and fought through the entire war. He was awarded the Military Cross by General Montgomery.
During Peacetime he was not with the military but did become Honorary Colonel of Royal Canadian Logistics and later became the Honorary Colonel for the Canadian Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
