Antique Squirrel Cage Yarn Skein Winder
With 2 weaving bobbins & bench
It is hand built with mortis and tenon construction and pegged joints. Circa 1860 hand forged - Other names for this tool are ‘roller-cage swift’ ‘barrel swift’ and ‘rice.’ Some ends of the spool base on the side have some deep cracks and bends to the cage dowels but this tool will unwind yarn gently, and round skeins if needed.
