The setting is late 1944 and gives a poignant account by Ward Taylor of went through a pilot’s mind during this final period of the war. Included are the painful separation from his wife and the issues created by this, as well as a doomed relationship with a woman he met in Saipan that created an interesting side story. Ward was an actual B-29 pilot so this story can be looked at as “historical fiction.
