Vintage 20 gallon Superior Sanitary Churn & Mount

Very large and unique 20 gallon Superior Sanitary Churn manufactured by the Superior Churn and Manufacturing Company located in Northville, Michigan, patented in 1910. The unique barrel shaped churn is a  stoneware vessel instead of a wood barrel. There are no paddles in this stoneware churn - the end over end motion was enough to churn the cream into butter - mounted on a rotating iron swing w/ back heel metal wheels for transport & original wooden handle (some patina) - patent date stamped under the glaze  -  sold in 8, 10, 12, 15 and 20 gallon sizes in the hand powered model. Churn measures approx. 25" (H) X 22" (W) and is very heavy – no crazing – no chips – remarkable condition. NO LID
